ricky is by far the best 250 rider there is,to him it should be like getting different colored plastic on his bike.

let's look at recent yamaha major championships. mcgrath, supercross champion-who did he win championships for before he went to yamaha? answer: honda
doug henry, 250 nat'l champion-who did he win championships for before he went to yamaha?
answer: honda
i don't recall honda ever hiring a current champion until now.

mx547 - There was one current champ Honda hired away. Gary Jones won the 250 title in '73 on a Honda after winning it in '72 on a Yamaha. He switched to Can Am and won it again in '74.

Other champs who moved onto Honda a year or more after winning a major US title include Hannah, Rick Johnson, Mike LaRocco, Brad Lackey, Pierre Karsmakers and Jimmy Ellis. Of those, only RJ had is greatest success on red.
