Bruce, you just don't get it.
The US is the center of the MX Universe :p If the world wants to see how the Euro's stack-up, they can come here, that's (most of 'em) their goal anyway.

"We" screwed-up the MXdN? I tend to believe the promotor did, giving the race to a track that didn't even exist.

Townley (sp?) the next great Brit superstar just said in RacerX, he wants to win a couple "world" titles so he'll have a chance to get picked-up by a US team when he get's here. Sounds pretty obvious don't you think?

I suppose if the Euro guys don't want to become well-rounded (ie; learn SX and race two series) they'll just have to be content to stay over there and race in the minor leagues.

I guess your comment about the Olympics was a shot at the US (don't you live here; pissing on your guest, lol)... what's the medal count?

It's those kind of comments that feed the anti-american sentiment that is rife throughout the world. Not helping anything really. to which I imagine you will reply, 'we don't give a damn about the rest of the world, we rule blah blah'.

anyway. i'm interested to whether you have seen everts ride. I have many times and before you ask I have seen bubba and Rc and Mc ride a fair few times too and yes they are awesome and I am a fan but it just isn't Everts.

that man is a machine and rides like a machine, his riding appears effortless and you can't ever understand why he is so fast. whatever you put in front of him he will ride and conquer in a style that leaves you in awe.

My comment was not originally meant to be a european vs US point. I'm english, not european (thats a whole other topic not meant for this froum) and i wish we had the land and money you guys have in the US, but we don't which is why we don't have the best riders in the world.
I was simply giving my opinion that as ridiculously fast Bubba is he would end up coming away a little humbled against some of the euro guys. it's a different ball game but as you rightly said the money isn't in it so why bother, right?

Say nothing, say anything... doesn't matter, tt's the new world sport; Hate America. We're not supposed to even state fact for fear of upsetting someone. I have about 10 pages on the subject, but won't. Touchy subjuct for many of us, best to leave it alone.

Ya know, even if we don't send the bast to race Everts on his home track this year, he could still come over here for a National Season. Imagine that, take the top 5 GP guys and RC, Bubba, Pastrana, KDub, not to mention the GP guys that had the nads to come over, Reed, Cobra, Tortelli, et al... THAT would be sweet.

Alas, too much trouble for the Euro's to travel? Or is it really the sponsor money? Euro sponsors not wanting to advertise their product here? It ALL comes down to money ... either side of the pond.

LOL bit rich okie-everts has gone over a few times for the nats-more than bubba rc and others have gone to euro land.

We talk of how much the US riders race(and they do) but the Gps are now 16 rounds and with the local nation championships and the MXDN they do race most weekends.Alot of them also do the local national sx races in the winter as well.

Everts would not get paid to ride the US rounds at all, his sponsors employed him to ride gps and thats his job, i beleive if someone offered him money to race just the nats he would like to give it a go-after all he has numerous world titles already.

can you imagine Honda US paying RC to ride the gps? it wont happen two different worlds im afraid.

nope, i was simply trying to point out that team games often require more than a collecion of talented individuals.

Thanks for that "pillar of enlightenment". BTW, history wouldn't happen to have any examples of the UK subcribing to a "less than harmonious team attitude" would it?

Sorry , but the sour grapes US bashing gets old...it's a dollars and cents approach to the GP's and the MXDN, plain and simple. Those races just don't pull the ad revenue from the largest MX audience, which happens to be right here in the upstart US of A. With the overseas expense involved, plus added security costs vs. ad revenue generated from a series that just doesn't matter to many of the US market anymore, there is no way these races would be cost effective. I don't agree w/ it, as I grew up watching WWof Sports, Brad Lackey and Danny LaPorte winning the 500and 250 World titles and of course the mighty, mighty dominance of the US team that unseated the Brits and Belgians from MXDN and TDN dominance. World is different now and I really couldn't tell you hinestly who has even participated, let alone won world titles in the GP series over the last 10 years.

Everts this, Everts that, what ever, he got spanked by RC last year and would be schooled by him this year on a four-fity.

Everybody knows the US is the best, for peat sake we got to build finces to keep people out of this country.

Well pichon beat everts by a bigger gap(at the gp this sunday) than rc did at the mxdn-so that means pichon is faster than RC??

Seems to me you need alot more fast outdoor riders as the present ones dont even seem to get rc to work up a sweat :bang:

If the nationals continue like there are now i wont even bother to tape them, i missed the last few as it seemed pointless when i know RC/bubba runs away each race-in fact alot of racing is boring this season-look at F1 just the same.

Thanks Okie.

I'm sick of it. Freakin' Euro's telling us they can kick American ass in MX and stuff. Yeah, how many Euro national champs are there? Three. Bayle, Albertyn, Langston. Wait, Albertyn and Langston aren't even Euros, they're African! So that makes ONE FREAKIN' EURO! A frog to boot! Heck, even if you count 125 SX, you got Mike Pigeon, another frog! I would think you Englishmen would be ashamed of that! And Belgians? Cripes! Belgium might as well be France! "We can ride in the sand! Woohoo!" Well la-de-freakin'-da. That's not gonna do you much good when you're livin' in a VAN down by the RIVER!!

oh yeah, and 2-strokes still suck.

This coming from the missing behemoth of a link that is known as Pred. The same said link that until just last year, when he joined the 21st century by purchasing one of those whiz-bang KTM RFS's, thought hi-tech was using Marvel's Mystery Oil AND WD-40 to the same early 70's technological wonder that we all know as the mighty XR lineup. And of course I say this b/c I care...

Do you think there will be a day when we all tire of these threads?? im getting to the point where im responding out of habit than any real feelings on it.

How about i start a thread on who the fastest in a fantasy world contest?

My feelings are RC for consistancy
Bubba for speed but first year would be crashes.
Then It would be close with Everts,Pichon and Tort in that order, tort after the others as he gets crap starts, wonder what he could do with a start? he comes from way back sometimes.

Then i think reed, reed maybe better than this but its hard to tell.
Then the best rider in the world KW-looked pretty lack lustre to me recently.

After that you could have your picks, Melotte smets etc.
