FYI...

Saw this article on the AMA site about a Hatfield-McCoy trailfest weekend. It was October 17-20 of this year.

Considering that the Hatfield-McCoy trail system is less than half the driving distance as Cooperland (it's about 500 miles from my house), and the event is not quite as long (4 days), this could be a possibility for next fall. The headquarters for the event is 1/4 mile from one of the 3 main trailheads, and includes facilities like heated indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, bonfire, and pig roast. And with 400 miles of trails covering A, B, and C class loops, it's no wonder the web site is www.trailsheaven.com

Or, since the riding season starts very early down there (I don't think that there is any snow on the ground after February), this could be an early March / April road trip to get an early start on the riding season. The TrailFests in Moorestown are great. But I think that DW is a little far, and sounds like it is more geared for MX. Hatfield-McCoy could be a nice substitute for DW.

T/G and I have been batting around the Idea of a February ride some where? Hatfield-McCoy was one Idea. Anther one was that trials school some where in either KY or TN? I remember reading a post that they offer trail rides? Heck a one-day class and a nice long trail ride would be great in February. From what I remember they weren’t too pricey either.
If I was to do this I'd want to do either a motel /hotel or BB! And it would be sweet & a lot safer if we too have a guided tour. There are some mighty big hills down there!
