He finally did it!!

Well we took the training wheels off yesterday (again) and Cody gave it a try. I can't believe it, he did great. He still hasn't mastered turning yet, but he can definately go straight. I'm so excited, um..... I mean he's so excited. We had to stop and buy a kick stand this morning at Wal Mart. :cool:

When we had to go inside last night, he told me "we don't need any training wheels. They are for babies". Looks like Santa could be bringing a new toy for Christmas......KTM 50, PW50, JR50 oh the possibilities!

Congratulations! How old is he? I can't wait for the day for my son to walk, talk, let alone ride!

He's five. I can't belive how much progress he made this weekend. He can start, stop and turn around all by himself. Kids sure do pick up things fast!

That's it, once they have the confidence to ride without training wheels they are GONE!!!! Next is the dirtbike and mom constantly on her toes.

I thought my son was a terror, then along came the little sister! :scream:

She has no fear and loves speed. We took her training wheels off on a camping trip in N. Idaho. She peddaled around the meadow on her little bike, until Karl suggested we take a hike/ride up the service road to the Ranger Station 3 miles away. Karl and kids on bikes, me and my very pregnant friend Christine on foot. My daughter peddled as hard as she could to keep up and we walked as fast as we could to keep up too!

Spent a nice relaxing bit at the Ranger Station (and some stops to skip rocks in the river along the way) and headed back to camp. A huge rainstorm came over us and Karl and Pat took off on the bikes to get the pickup because it was getting ugly out. My daughter asked if she could catch up to them and I said go ahead, thinking she wouldn't get too far ahead. We LOST her. We came around a bend in the road and could see her about 1 mile ahead cruising on another bend. That's when I got scared. There was traffic (she was riding on the side of the road but looked so tiny) and there were cars parked along side the road - I was worried she'd get hurt or someone would grab here so I apologized to Chris and started running to catch my little girl.

I finally caught her and waited for Christine to catch up. We met Karl with the truck about 1/2 mile from camp!

She hasn't slowed down since!

Thanks! I'm sure I'm going to need it. I'm not uaually a nervous person but I think this will be the exception. I'm already yelling "watch out for that hole" and "watch out for that tree". I thought when he learned to walk it was bad.

Just wait until he tells me to move over, I'm going to slow! :silly:

Don't worry Neely, if he's anything like my kids he won't tell you to move over, he'll just rip past you and laugh as you crash trying to catch up with him!

I feel your excitement! My little guy is not 2 yet and already has a bicycle and Z50 in the garage....sad, I know :mad: Maybe I'm a little anxious?? :think :cool:
