Head Gasket Question

On the attached it shows the cylinder of a 1974 TS250.
If you look there are two head gaskets #3 and #4 (#3 looks like #5). Anyway when I took my bike apart it had #4 in it, when I bought a gasket kit it had #3 in it. When you look at the pic it has both. So which one do I put in. #3 or #4 or both? Any ideas? :coocoo:

It looks like #4 is your gasket and #3 is a shim used to reduce compression. If #3 is made out of steel than it's probably a shim, if it's made out of copper than it's probably a gasket. If it's a shim than I would try it with both first, and if I wanted a little harder of a hit than I would remove #3 and use premium gas.

#3 is copper.

If it is copper, a the kit came with it only, then that is your head gasket, my best guess.
