I have a '98 EC 250 that I just put a new headlight on. The headlight is a UFO Sahara 35W. I dont know if the light is just getting to much power or maybe I have it hooked up wrong but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Maybe the volt regulator is blown. It's a small aluminium box with two or three cables coming out. They are usually mounted under the tank or in the steering head area.
I have the same bike and had the same problem two years ago. Remove your fuel tank. Behind the steering head there is a small pocket in the frame. Inside this pocket is the voltage regulator, a small gray box with a wire and a female spade connector. Remove this pile of junk (very few people I know have one that actually works). You can replace it with a $15 Moose voltage regulator. Several people will tell you the Moose regulator won't fit in the pocket. That's BS! I got mine to fit just perfect using only a longer bolt.
