have a 95 KTM 300 EXC, last season my headlight was working great. But towards the end of October my light started to blow every time i brought the bike off of idle. i looked at the wiring diagram thinkg maybe my voltage regulator went bad. Unfortunatly there is no voltage reregulator for the headlight, the generator (i quess it is the same as a magneto) says it has a 12volt and 130 watt output. i opened the repair manual and it gave me resistance reading and they were a ll in spec. So i stated the bike and hooked a DNOM to the 2 light wires, no voltage in a DC ot an AC scale. But when i was kicking the bike over i had about 1.5 volts. does anyone have any suggestions besides buying a new ignition($498) or having a battery on the bike.
thanks

macko00xj, this happened on my IT175. Your bike should have a voltage regulator built into the CDI box. If not look for a 12volt regulator off of a bike that is from KTM. Unless any old one will work.
