HELP! 1983 piston replacement

I am rebuilding a 1983 KDX 200. I understand that these motors were prone to seizure due to piston clearance problems. When replacing the stock piston in a standard original stock cylinder, which piston should I use? Should I use the 1984 piston or the replacement 1983 piston?
