Help needed on exhaust!!!

Well in in the process of buying a new exhaust sytem (probly a fmf gnarly pipe with silencer) but i dont have the money yet. so for now i have the all stock exhaust. but i wanted to know if i took off the spark arrestor/silencer and just left the expansion chamber on, would that do any damage to my bike?
btw i have a 2001 kdx 200.. any advice would be appriciated

Why would you take the silencer off? It will affect performance and will assist in making you and everyone around you deaf.

I don't think it would damage it, but you wouldn't be able to ride it legally without it. It would be much louder and lose a bit of its power.

better invest in some ear plugs if you do that

yes it would do damage you make any change to the exaust or air breather you MUST REJET THE CARBS look for forums that talk about what jetting you need for those modifications

if you increase the air flow out of the engine you must increase the card jetting to allow for more fuel more fuel more air or viseversa
