Hi,
i have a 1990 yamaha yz 125. i would like to make it look as new as possible. how much modification would i have to do in order to replace my old 90 tank, and put in a 2006 tank. would it fit? i want to use 2006 plastics, but they wont fit w/o the right tank on there. i think the front and rear fenders will fit, but im most conserned about the panals off the tank. Thanks

huh? all i want to do is make it look nicer, i dont like how the 90 looks, and i dont have 5,600 for a new bike. Im not trying to sell it or anything, if thats what ur thinking. I love my bike! all i really want to know is if the plastics from an 06 would fit on a 90. I want to put some kool graphics on my bike, but for that year they dont have any, so i figured i could use 2006 plastics and put a nice decal kit on it. Any help is greatly appreciated!
-Thanks

I recently heard of a new 05 YZ125 for $2399, OTD! Not sure how many they had but worth a thought.

do a search i remember a while back i saw a guy who bought a 95 yz250 (?) and i think it had all 2001 (?) plastics but they ended up cutting the backbone of the frame, and in my eyes ruing the structural integrity of the bike. but to each his own i guess. but im pretty sure you can get new plastics in different colors for your specific bike. and probly alot cheaper and definitely alot less work.
