Need some help here guys, I raced motocross from the time I was 8 - 18 on a regular basis and have dabbled with it over the passed 10 years along with quite a bit of trail riding, my current bike is a KDX 200, nice fun bike, but I am tired of the lack of power, especially in the sand and open trails. Here is my dilema, I am a big two stroke fan and not too sure if I want to go the four stroke route just yet. However, I am looking at picking up another bike right now I am looking at a 2002 300 EXC and the 400 EXC. Really leaning toward the 300, however, I am affraid I may be in the same boat as the KDX and missing some power.

How about a little input, does the 300 have enough power?

You will not be disappointed in the power department. I went from YZ426 to KX250 to 300EXC. The 300 is the best of all worlds - all the power of a four stroke, none of the weight issues; handles like a 250 and can be ridden like either- forgiving like a 4t or aggresive like a 2t.

Hmmm......First time I have ever heard someone asked if the 300 had enough power :coocoo: If in doubt that the 300 will hav enough power, better get a CR500AF now theres power :yikes:

ditto on all the above! I have had two 300s - tons of power. I now have a 250 - i love it, but at times i miss the grunt of that 300! (so what it you are two gears to high - just twist that throttle!)
