10th digit in the VIN number tells what year. Suzuki uses a letter. Your local dealer can help you with converting letter to year.

think ive found out the year, the vin was useless at local suzuki dealer so dont know what happened there but on a 95 rm 250 the throttle case is different to the 94-93 bike, mine has the 94 -93 type which got me one step further.started looking more and the crankcase cover on a 93 has aetc on it which mine hasnt, mine has suzuki which was on the 94-95 bike.so by that result i think it will be a 94.here is the address where i found out the info,so if anyone else gets problems this site can be very usefull http://www.teamecc.com/fiche_select.asp
