G'day guys and girlz of the DRN Moto community. My current ride is a CRF450 2005 which is my first four stroke and definately not my last. I just came across this site and thought I would register. I'm new to this whole on-line chat thing, but I'm always up for a yarn.
Thanks for the reply. I see you ride the 05 CRF450 too. I love it. I hope yours is as trouble free and fun to ride as mine. I owned an 05 KX250 2stroke before that and since switching to the 4stroke my riding has improved 10 fold.
I live up in a small town called Gove in the Northern Territory. It's basically on the opposite side of the state to Darwin. There's no club up here just a heap of keen guys who love to ride. We've got 1 track which we run and maintain ourselves using borrowed loaders, backhoes, bobcats etc. It's pretty sweet 'cause there's no organized rides where we need to have officials and the ambulance and stuff (Although the Ambos would help sometimes). We usually just load up and go out whenever. Alot of the younger riders who don't have cars will usually ride out from thier holmes. We try to make sure we're ready at all times so when we are about to go out we just text who we can and go (This way helps heaps in wet season).
I did a fair bit when I was little, but now it's mostly riding. Every house up here has at least 1 boat in thier yard so I figure the waters are overfished and overcrowded. Best I keep to what I know best. I'm currently getting my son into riding now, he's learning quick. I'm going to have to trick out his CRF150's suspension so he can go a bit bigger. Do you race your bike or is it a scrub basher?
Used to do a bit, Supermans, Heel Clickers, Nothings, Nac Nacs, Double Cans, No-Hander Landers. All old school stuff. I found that my riding and track technique was Diminishing so I threw away my over-the-boot pants and got stuck into what I mostly do now, which is honing my SX skills. The only trick I try now is the mighty WHIP!!
