Higher handle bars can help?

Lot of experienced peoples told me about my mistake during riding stand up. I'm riding bent with butt pushed out (to backward). I've tried to run little bit narrow, but it is painful for my lower back. My bike is YZ250 '04 with 971 Renthals. I'm 5'11'' high. Can help increase 1" handle bars or should I learn new body position? Thanks.

There is no one position that is correct. When you are braking, you *should* have your butt out and be as far back as you can. When accelerating (with decent traction) you should be as far forward as you can get.

I used to run CR High bend bars, but have reverted to CR Mids (I'm 6' 0"). Changing the bars is only one part of it, you may need to change your riding habits, too.

I tried to run on CR a few laps, and bars are there higher then on YZ. That's why I'm asking. Does anyone with YZ and around 6' 0" using higher bars? Or, if you sit on YZ do you feel bars lower then on CR?

Jarda, I am 6'1" and I am running the KX High bend pro-tapers. Switching to the higher bars definately helped me when riding, before I always felt really hunched over and I was uncomfortable, now I feel much more relaxed on the bike. I also have aftermarket triple clamps and I moved the bar mounts forward quite a bit which also helped.

It's all about how YOU FEEL if you feel comfortable then don't change anything. If you don't then make some changes.

I am 6' and ride an 01 yz250. I switched to CR high bend fat bars with the 3/4" adapters. I like it better now. I can stand up a little straigher. My son has an 00 yz250 and has aftermarket top clamp that moves the bar forward. They feel about the same to me, with his giving me a little more room. I think taller seat foam may also help me get up off the seat better. That will be my next thing to try.

Ok. I will move higher my bars for 1" and we will see. Don't know when it wil be tested because of winter in the Middle Europe. I hope we can run on the sand during weekend. Up to this moment thanks for your opininons.

Bar risers and bars with less sweep made a huge difference on my bike. Before it was cramped when sitting and too low when standing. Now I have better control and balance when standing and I can get further forward when sitting.

I'm only 5'9", on an 03 yz 250, and I run the RC bars (one of the taller bars at 4 inches high), with a relatively flat bend. I personally like the taller bars.
