i have a 2004 kx 125 that has not been doing well for the holeshot... im kinda in the middle of the pack im doing every thing right i think i just think my bike needs some more guts its a fast bike but it has a hard time with the 4 strokes
its got a pro circuit pipe r-304 shorty v force 3 reeds and thats about it im thinking about getting it ported or going down to a 12 tooth front sproket if i were to get it ported i would go with the mid - top end power because its got really nice bottom it just needs some more top end cause i am in the front of the pack for like 20ft then most of them pass me by would porting be the way to go or should i change the gearing
the top end it kinda tired on the bike but i dont have the money untill the end of this season to rebuild it.

a fresh set of rings and new back tire will sometimes get the little bit you re looking for with a good bang per buck ratio

There is always the possibility they hit their shift more on the mark than you do and get better drive.

Try doing routine maintenance and keeping your bike in top shape for racing before looking to throw mods at it because you feel the bike is underpowered.
