honda xr600r oil

i have used honda hp4 oil in my 600 since it was new.
if i start using mobil 1 motorcycle specific oil will i have any problems
such as clutch slippage ? my wife works for auto- zone and
can get me a good deal on it.

There are two camps on this topic. Why risk auto oil in your bike.Stick with what you are using and change the oil every third ride or every race,and you can will your XR to your grandkids.

I run Mobil 1 Racing 4T, which is a full synthetic oil designed for use with wet clutch motorcycles. I still do relatively frequent changes, only problem I've had is that it lightens your wallet somewhat!!

Good ol' 15/50 mobil one has been working for me for over a year now. no clutch slippage or other problems yet.

Xr600R, you should have no oil-caused problems with making the switch to the MC-specific stuff or the auto 15W50. Leave the lower viscosity auto Mobil 1 oils alone though.

I run Castrol GTX as a break-in oil then switch to Mobil 1 15w50. No problems so far.
