Just picked up a 2007 Yamaha TTR 50 for my son to bomb around our property and race in the 50 Trail class next year......the 15 minute run times on his Cobra's is not enough during "play time" throughout the week! You cannot start these bikes while in gear and the shifter must be removed for legal racing in the trail class, SS, 50 JR non-points, etc. As a race weekend back-up bike I need to eliminate this safety feature. I un-plugged every connector I saw 1 at a time with no luck. I assume I'll have to rempve the left side case cover to get into the tranny as I see a few wires leading down into those depths. Am I on the right track or is there a easier way? Thanks in advance.
