How good is aftermarket suspension

I have a 1991 YZ250. Would an aftermarket suspension work better than a new bike, the same as new or will my bike never be as good as a new bike.

Do you mean swapping you whole set up or a full revalve on the stuff you have?no 91 suspension will work like a good modern set up but it could be good enough to satisfy most riders, however the cost could be more than the bikes worth.

its all depends on how much you want to keep the bike-finacially you would be better off putting the money towards a new bike-the post 95 jap bikes have suspension not far different to todays.
