How is harescramble racing in Virginia?

Thinking about moving east in the Virginia/North or South Carolina area. Wondering about the harescramble scene. Also wondering about the available areas that are worth a damn to go and just trail ride and practice for harescrambles. I want to move in this area so the GNCC's would be much more logistical. Right now I have to travel a minimum of 7hrs for harescramble races. Just looking for some good info.
