how to change oil

How do you change the transmission oil? What oil do i use? I have never changed it before but the guy i bought my 02 yz 125 changed it regularly. I have maybe rode about 8 hours on it ever since i got it. I know this is a dumb questions but this is my first bike and i dont have the service manual and yamaha is closed :/
