Can anyone help me to distinguish standard fork springs from aftermarket/heavier springs. I bought an 05 kdx and have been riding it for almost a year. I am 80kg and ride fairly aggressively(as I raced mx for many years).
I dont feel the "normal" front soft suspension I have felt on other kdx's. Reason I need to know is I want to get suspension valved/sorted etc and think I would need to know what springs are in...
Or can I go ahead and do valving and leave springs if I am happy with no bottoming out? thanks

Pull them out and use a weight scale. Press the spring down onto the scale while measuring how far you are compressing. Unfortunately the sites that sell springs don't say how far per weight. For instance they sell a .4kg spring. duhh, .4kg per what? inch? cm? Just email them if someone here doesn't clarify. (.4kg is equal to .9 pounds.)
