Pull of the side cover, it's easier if you take the seat off first. Then unbolt the silencer and slip it off. You might have to twist it a little.

That is my assumption, until I learn otherwise. The side cover is also known as a number plate. White, plastic, and held in place by a tab on the front, two 8mm bolts (one rear top, one bottom rear center), and the seat. Also, the part that you grap to lift the bike runs under the frame, you have to pull it straight out. A bit difficult with the seat on.

Pulling the silencer is a sure fire way to create more poeple that want less bikes.
