A friend of mine took a trail by an old mans property to the local riding spot,on his way back home he hit a wire chest high and even though it wasnt the old mans land he admitted he put the wire up after my buddie had ridden by the first time. The friend broke his coller bone and was lucky he didnt die,but he sued the old man and won.The guy who said hed do this on his own property should think of the consequences, call the sherrif let them handle it.The funny "?" thing is there worried about the enviroment, but all there traps could also hurt animals or hikers, and it all involes littering. Its a sad world.

After reading through offroad.com's web site about trail boobytraps and such. I'm just wondering... What can we do to protect ourselves while trail riding with people like this out there?

The most effective deterent is to do an inspection ride every time you go out. I know this may be tough for those of you lucky enough to have miles and miles of trails, but if you ride an enclosed area or loop, it will make your ride safe.

I have to inspect my track everytime I go out. It is in an unrestricted flood plane, so everyone has access. I've had to remove logs that were obviously leaned across the trail, a cable accross the bridge and the equivelant of a coffee can of nails.

Great Info!

It's hard to classify any of these Enviro NAZI groups as terrorist organizations when they have so many friends in Congress (Barbara Boxer, to name only one of the PC, Wacked crowd). We need to vote these clowns out of office, reclaim the public land for the public and scrap this political correctness crap. This will take time though and we all need to remain vigilant and really look out for each others' well-being and safety. I did run across a booby trap while riding on the logging trails up in Mendecino once. It was two metal stakes leaned up against two trees with a wire tied between them about handlebar high (the infamous "H/A" booby trap). My friends and I removed it and promptly returned to camp where we warned other riders camping in the area about what we had found. Several more were discovered over the course of the next couple of days and they were all promptly dismantled and disposed of (don't leave the parts lying about for those wackos to reuse). :moon: I liked seeing that Earth First Eviro Nazi Handbook, because now I know what to look for while out riding in my favorite and LEGAL riding areas.

something like that happened to me , i was riding along and it was like BOOM there was a small fireball and i was a little stunned. i put my bike on a tree and looked to see what it was , there wasa wine bottle that was busted up,i saw the bottom intact after the fire went out , i found a grill igniter with 2 wires hangin off it , i guess i hit the button when i ran it over and it blew up the gas or whatever in the bottle , i dont think it was powder cuz it made a flamy fire, oh well,m it was in a little pit,

People who think up that crap should die. Take that board of nails and wack em over the head 100 times. They're so damn obsessed with nature being natural. They hate every person on earth because we're ****ing it up. But they're fuct up in the head so that makes sense now.
