hey guys im pretty new here, im 20 years old and i currently have an 05 yfz450 atv. i started to ride a few of my friends dirtbikes and want to switch asap. im very interested in the crf250r but would like any input that you have.

Try to include the following info in your first post
1) your physical size (both height and weight are important) 5' 8" and about 165 fully dressed
2) How physical / aggressive are you ? very aggressive and ride hard
3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ????? i plan to ride some mx but not competitively and i ride alot of woods/ trails and frields.
4) Do you have any riding experience? i have been riding atvs for 5 years and have little experience on a dirtbike but i DO NOT want to buy a " beginner" bike cause i will grow out of it in 2 rides
5) Do you think you will race ? no
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? yes i love to build my own motors and bikes its a hobby
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)? i like the idea of the 4 strokes and i like the honda and yammie but i need input cause all i have ridden is 2 strokes and i have been riding a 250 2 stroke lately
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry? not really i want to buy used and privately
9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike? i need to sell my atv first but i would like to stay under $3500-3800
10) anything else that you think would help form an opinion. i dont want a bike that is to small cause i will grow out of it quickly, i want something that is fun yet reliable and i can just get better and faster on the more that i ride. thanks for the help guys

If you liked you quads quick yet low end power then you should get a 2 stroke. Either a YZ250 or CR250 are both great bikes of any years and have lots of performance parts to make it GNCC trail worthy.
