I would have the idle turned down, BUT I do have my CR 500 idle cause i like it and have never had a problem with it. Im not sure about small bore bikes though since they rev higher. I would just say to turn the idle down since the racers seem to do it and it woks for them.

Unless my YZ 250 is set to idle very rough, the throttle response is bad. It was the darndest thing. At first I tried to jet it out. Thanks to the guys from the cycle house mentioning this, but when I backed the idle off, the flat spot was gone. I would have never believed this.

Yes, it is true, especially with Keihin carbs that setting the idle down low improves the throttle response. Although, sometimes I like my bike to idle. I would just adjust that for the conditions and areas that you are going to be riding. Rcannon, do you spend much time at Little Sahara?
