Anyone going to Gussie's event this weekend?

I'll be there to watch but was wondering which other DRNers were going to attend. If the weather holds and we don't get too much rain it should be a good ride. The fall event is usually not as tough as the "Moose Run" which is held in the spring.

Of course if you don't want to ride the whole thing there is always the Saturday races.

IF THE WEATHER HOLDS OUT!! :silly: I think I'm gonna do it as a fun ride. The wifes been putting the ol' foot down. I had to miss White City this weekend because our heat needed to be fixed... who the hell needs heat. :p Anyway, if the rain holds I'll be there. If not, well... you never know.

Baked - you missed a tough one at White City - 100 ground miles! I did about 60 before houring out. Three tries at this enduro, 3 DNF's!! They get you thinking it won't be too bad after a 10 mile run through the club grounds (which were awesome). Then they send you through 70 miles of the tightest single track you can imagine, no chance to get much rythym going, and plenty of opportunities to bury the bike in mud (which I did several times).

Hope to see you next year...

FlyinRyan, Good luck at Morrison this weekend. Don't know what the weather has been like there this week but its been a constant deluge here in Indiana. I think Upland could be questionable this weekend. Had fun riding with you at White City last weekend, look forward to more in the future! Ride that new 200 this weekend, I know the sheen is gone on mine.

Thanks Andrew, I may have to ride the new one. I destroyed the pipe at White City. When I took it off to try and staighten it the pipe fell apart. I'm suprised that I was able to ride it all day with no problems. May have something to do with the big crash. It was fun riding on the same minute, if I make it over to IN you'll owe me one for getting you around the creeks and through town ;) .

Good luck at Upland if they run.

Taber rode the KTM 400 and I think he was having a little trouble getting use to it after riding the 200 for so long. Then he ran out of gas just before the finish. That dropped him a couple more positions. He seemed in a good mood though after the race.

I would say that there was a little bit of dirt thrown around the logs;) It sure was alot better than I thought it was going to be. The only really bad spot was a creek crossing that had vertical banks. The first loop wasn't bad, but the second loop was bad, did the old launch the bike up the bank and hoped it landed on top (it did), I didn't. Nothing like launching your $5000.00 motorcycle up creek wall praying that it lands on top and not on you.

Good ride agitt73, did you do both loops? What did you think of Willow Blvd?

Layton is correct about Tim Tabor, I rode with him for almost the whole first loop. He was struggling trying to ride the 400 at race speed. He kept asking me to trade bikes with him. He was trying to ride it like a 200 and it was wearing him out. And as Layton said he ran out of gas twice, once on the first loop right by the pits and on the second loop he ran out about a mile before the end.

I had fun anyway. Ended up 6th overall and almost enough award money to buy a new pipe, seeing as how I smashed mine on some logs.

1st: Chuck Woodford
2nd: Jeff Fredette
3rd: Joey Ambrosini
4th: David Stickel
5th: Charlie Deuchter
6th: Me
7th: Phil Converse ?

Stavish didn't come. Junior, Quiten, Kyle Nelson, Dylan, and some other MN guys came down, Junior was up front until he fell off an embankment and almost ended up in a creek. Kyle got stuck pretty bad I guess and I'm not sure what happened to the rest of the guys.

Jeff and Joey tied. I didn't here how they were going to break the tie. Both Jeff and Joey had the same number of wins and the same number of seconds. I gues it would come down to thirds, but I heard they were tied period. I left before Bill came back from sweeping, so I'm not sure. I would think that Jeff would win as he placed higher at the last race, but who knows how Gussie will figure it out.
