I was looking at buying myself a Ims gas tank for my kx100. i can prolly get a little over 30 miles on my stock on. I've done 27 with like .3 gal left. If you have it, do you have pics?
How does it fit?
Aproximately how many miles can you go on it?
does it affest riding position/ width any?
Your stock tank is 1.5 gal, the IMS tank is 2.2 gal (i think). Doing the math you should get about 46% more fuel which should give you about the same increase in milage per tank.
If you can do 30 miles on a 1.5 gal tank you should be able to do 44 miles on a 2.2 gal tank. Actually you might get 55 miles per tank if what you say is correct and you had .3 gal left after doing 30 miles.
well i don't know if it was .3 gal, but we did 27 and there was a little left. Most likely woulda gotten another 3 -2.5 miles out of it. The IMS 2003 Tank is 2.6 gal, and the 2002 is 2.4
They fit fine, no mods required. The additional gas gets a KX100 out to about 55-60 miles. It does cramp up the ability to slide forward on the bike. We actually take it off for everything but enduros and long desert rides.
