hey, my indicators on my dt 200 wont work :bang: . ive striped all the cable back in the lume and non of its shorting out. ive tested each bulb and they all work. so im thinking it must be the indicator relay unit? it still makes a clicking sound when u cancel the indicators. it had what seemed to be charcoal where the two pieces meet in the relay. is there anyway of testing the relay to see if its ok?
thanks

Was it a clicking noise that sounded like it was coming from within the relay itself? what does the relay look like? If it has prongs how maney?

hey, yes i took the cap off the indicator relay, and it is making a clicking noise but only one click? should it be continually clicking? it seemed to have some charcole around where the single prong would touch another part when it clicked.

well it sounds like your talking about the flasher unit... But it has a peice of metal that expands and contracts hence the clicking noise and yea it should click on and off .. so on, as long as you have it on. The charchoal is probably melted plastic. Your best bet is to replace it probably

yep i have a multimeter, what should i be checking? also the headlight and tailight both work fine.... im pretty stumped aswell hahaha

**** just went for another ride and found that if i had the revs up and the headlight off the indicators would come on..... i remember reading something similar to this on a forum..... i think it was something to do with the bike not generating enough electrical power to power everything..... ill have a look

**** found it

they reckon his problem was his battery wasnt supplying enough power.... so ill check my connections again.

my buddy had a dt175, and without the battery (or a low charge batter) the engine had to be revved for the flashers to blink. the charging system on these bikes are pretty weak at idle.

Bingo!

Your indicators wont work correctly unless your battery is fully charged.
