I recently purchased an IRONMAN sprocket (KX47). For the price and advertisements I expected a precision Chro-Mo sprocket at just a bit more weight than my usual Renthal Alum. ones. While it is light for a steel one, it is of the poorest quality I have ever seen, i.e.; hooked teeth, VERY rough cut. looks like it was cut with a cutting torch! I think my 9 year old could do better with a dull hacksaw and a drill. The contact surface of the teeth is so crude and out of square my new DID VT520 chain only touches on less than 10% of the face of each tooth. Can't be good on rollers!
I contacted Dirt Works, the Manufacture, thinking mine skipped Quality Control or something, and was told "They're all like that, that's just how they are" For $100.00 you'd think you would get a decent product. Has anyone else had an experience with this product?
