The odds are that most folks who own dirt bikes, also own pick-up trucks.

It really chap's me when I see folks throw trash in the bed of their truck and take off down the road pretending to be oblivious that it blows out on the road. :|

Early rush hour traffic clipping along pretty good and some clown in an beat up Ford truck in front of me with a big bag of trash floating around in the bed lost/dumped it/gotrid of it right in my path.
Hit the grill of my big truck and busted open scattering _____ everywhere.

Traffic behind me scattered and slowed down --- we all know what happened next!

Traffic report on the radio talking about the traffic jam that is backed up for miles caused by debris on the road!

The bed of a truck is not a trash can!

My open-top trailer is good for that storage, but not for garbage, mostly tie-downs and old sparkplugs (but none of that is falling out).

I feel your pain on this topic though, I see it too much :|

That sucks...

I have been behind trucks with the empty bags floating around. up down up down just waiting for it to fly out.

Even worse is I take a road to work which is a major route for trucks. I get to watch wobbly loads and rebar hanging 10' off the front and back of the trailers. Even though I grew up around trucks it still scares the crap out of me to be next to some of these guys.

Thanks Jeff, you reminded me of something. If you think the bags in the pick-up trucks is bad, follow a logging truck sometime. Oooooh I hate those things. Might not be littering, but very dangerous.

Every place I ride has lots of 55-gallon drums for trash. That is usually the last thing we do is make a trash call and clean up everything in our area and put them in the barrels. I don't put lightweight stuff that will blow out in the bed. Heck, I won't even put my chest protector in the bed unless it has a strap through it.

I'd like to catch the guy that thinks he can dispose of his empty big gulp cup in the back of my parked pickemup truck. That always pisses me off!

A related story.

A few years ago, when I was driving dump truck for the county (instead of the desk) I was following a guy who had well over a dozen bags of garbage in the back of his rattletrap ol' Ford. I was loaded as well, and we were up to full speed. I noticed that the bags weren't exactly sitting still in the rig, and all the sudden one flew out! Being fully loaded, there was no way I could slow the ol' Interbinder down, so I braced myself for impact.

!!!!!KABLOOOOIE!!!!!!

It was a bag full of packing peanuts! That guy had a heckuva time gathering 'em all back up.

My favorite is the truck full of empty beer cans, 90 mph down the interstate and all of a sudden it looks like the "Dorothy" scene from Twister Cans a swirling and flying up in the air, then raining down all over the interstate. :|

Vintage - after my last trip to souithern NM, I am actually shocked that anyone threw their trash in your truck....everyone else just throws it alongside the road. I have never seen so many beer bottles laying on the shoulder in my life. :|

The ones that get me are the oblivious people who decide to "empty" their 1/2 full, watered down Big Gulps out the window while going 65 down the freeway!! ALL of it landed on my freshly Windexed windshield, as I was the driver behind this moron.

Try following a cattle truck in traffic..ewwwwwwww

I am guilty of litter flying out of the bed of my pickup 2 times. This is no excuse, but I usually take 2 other guys with me, and 4 others use our pit, and my brand new Chevy is used as the "pit truck and trash can." We always clean "most" of the trash out, but 2 times, I or someone else has missed a peice or 2. It makes me nervous when it flies out and once I stopped to pick it up, but the other it was morning traffic. I hate it when it happens.

Guilty as charged.....

I'm surprised that flying trash is not confined to Alabama. Things have improved here since I arrived though. Most of the roadside trash is found on two-lane country roads rather than the freeways. REDNECKS!

I can't decide if these losers are lazy or ignorant. . . or BOTH.

People like to use my truck as a trash can too. I've found all kinds of disgusting things in there that I know aren't mine. I even found a pair of used (for who knows what) surgical gloves. It really makes me mad.

I strap down everyting that's in the bed of my truck (especially gear). I've got nicks in my windshield from flying popcans from other trucks. I too hate it when I walk out into a parking lot and see the bed of my truck full of other people's garbage.

now when I'm out for a Sunday drive on my streetbike and crash because of that hay...I'm taking you to court mister :|

The worst is the 75% of a semi-tire in the midle of the road and the other 25% scattered for the next half-mile, especially if this is found while on 2 wheels.

I see folk throw stuff in the bed of their trucks while driving. Where do you suppose that stuff eventually ends up?

My big gripe is gravel trucks or trucks hauling muddy contruction equipment. Dang rocks and dirt-clods do lots of damage.
