I got a new to me computer at work. A Power Mac G3. I have never looked at DRN in my office so I thought I'd give it a try. Problem is that the forums don't seem to wrap and are real large. I see only a corner of the screen and have to scroll forever to see all of a post. My old mac would take six days to load but once loaded it was OK. This machine is faster but it is next to possible to look at DRN. I am using Netscape. I guess maybe it is a good thing, I won't get in trouble for using it at work.

Any ideas.

The basic problem is Netscape. It simply can't handle complex tables, which is how the forums are made. I had a beta of 6.X, (not sure what the current Mac version is) that displayed it fairly well, only minor problems. When the release version came out, it didn't work at all. Go figure.

As far as everything being "really big", sounds like the resolution setting? I'm no Mac expert, I use a real computer :p .

The same thing happened to me. I usually use IE at work but for about two months we were forced to use Nutscrape because of some web virus/worm. Now that the CSU people have tested all of our web apps with the newer version of IE, DRN is good to go at work.;) It was so slow and painful to read DRN, that I didn't even want to do it.:) If you load IE onto your computer at work it should work fine (not too sure about Macs).

I'll check with our techs about using IE. The lab that I usually use to check DRN at work are the only real computers we have. Whats bad is that this is suppose to be one of the better Macs our system has. HA, they are junk. The PIII's across the street are three times as fast and no problems. This thing has froze up three times with an error message that says not enouch memory. OH the things I put up with just for my fix of DRN.

Here's what I had to do when I just had to check a post using Netscape:

From the email notification I would copy the URL(example http://www.dirtrider.net/forums3/showthread.php?threadid=29189&goto=newpost)

Then to make it work (working is a relative term here as opposed to locking up my computer) I would delete the "&goto=newpost" I don't know exactly why this worked.

Same problem with various versions of Netscape :o at work too. Only consistent work around I've found is just use the scroll bars and suck it up.

Part of my problem is I can't make any perment changes to the options because of the way our network is setup. Thus, I haven't tried real hard to make it work correctly. :think

Netscape is extremly slow handling DRN too.

Maybe you can search the internet and find a different browser. I've heard good things about Opera, but not sure if there is a MAC version.
