Joined The KDX Family Today...

Just picked up an immaculate '97 KDX 200 today, and it looks like it's only been wrecked about once before, all for $1,800! Only one complaint, though. The motor seems to make a rattle and backfiring or pinging sound at idle, and a backfire or pinging sound after slightly revved up, then back to idle. Anyone else notice this? Also takes quite a while to clean out. Is this just normal KDX noises? I've heard that these motors are kind of noisy.
