from the four stroke dark side..... there are some things i miss. to compesate i have installed a steahly fly weight. oh by the way 01 rm250. and set my supension to the woods.
my ? is this:
im having a bit of trouble now on the gnarly hill climbs. i either was too stupid to notice it before, or the four stroke was that much better.........both im thinkin :nod:
the power band seems all over the place and i cant keep the thing on the darn trail.
any suggestions on getting this thing to track a little better.
i've only putted around the yard today to see how the weight works didnt seem a whole lot different, but we'll see on the trail.
p.s. its good to be back on a two smoker

It will take some getting use to, but you'll be able to get it dialed in. The one thing that I will say is that even when you get it dialed in, you'll find that the thumper was an easier bike to ride. Not more fun, but easier to ride.
I still find myself trying to kick my smoker like I did my old thumper, but I don't worry about grenading an engine anymore either.

wow that weight

actually made quite a bit of difference. i also received my manual today and found i had some breather hose routed wrong :think:
it seems quite a bit nicer. i definantly recomend the flywheel weight.....
new tires, better grips and some bark busters, and im good to go :laugh:
still under 1400, yup bought in a box. literaly.

Suzuki is known for not running much flywheel effect on their RM's. Starting in 03 though, they started going with more weight. I put a 12oz on my 03, ride real tight rocky stuff and still wasn't satisfied. Woods cylinder work was the fix, it enhances low-end torque and allows you to ride a gear high........so I'm not constantly chasing the rear end around, but still way fast with a little clutch. Use your clutch a lot and try to stay low in the RPMs.

Have Eric Gorr port it for low end. It should cost less than an after market pipe. I had my 2002 CR 250 done and now you can hardly stall it it has so much low end.

Heard from many on this site that are more than pleased with Gorr's work...........Had Varner Motorsport's do mine before I knew of him.
