We watched K-Dub leave the pits for the final practice. He never came back. :ugg: Pastrana looked OK in the pits. We still don't know why he pulled off. Someone said he was feeling the effects of the flu, and others said he got hurt. I didn't even see him pull off. He just disappeared from second place.
Rumors were flying about K-Dub. Someone (a kid) said his leg "snapped in half". Any details on the severity of the break?
Hells fire! If this keeps up there won't be anyone for me to go see in Salt Lake City in April!! First its my main man LaRocco, now Windham......take it easy guys! Great series so far except for the injuries.
DC spoke with Suzuki Team Manager Roger DeCoster last night regarding Kevin Windham's condition. DeCoster said Windham has a fractured femur, but it was a clean break and should be completely healed in approximately three months. Windham was scheduled for surgery this morning (to have a steel rod implanted to stabilize the leg) at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
Windham crashed during practice Saturday at the Georgia Dome while attempting a unique quadruple jump combo that only he and Ricky Carmichael were doing. RC immediately stopped doing the combo as soon as he learned of Windham's crash and his condition.
I was there he crashed right infront of me...its was fast and nasty in that complete straight there was 2 sections that you could quad. You could quad entering the section or quad exeting the section. Basically from what I say his rear wheel clipped the last jump wrong and threw him over the bars legs first into the next jumps. It took around 25-30 min to get him off the track and practice resumed shortly after. Also was a nice little fight in the pits from Ron Ron & Vullimen. Vull kinda pushed Ron off the track when he was in good position and after the qualifier he tracked him down.
