I'm looking at buying a 95 KDX 200. I'm a 40 year old newbie and do pretty much trail riding.

Would I be crazy if I took a KDX 200 to a MX track just for fun?

Thanks!

Any thing I should look out for on a 95. I would hate to buy a 10 year old bike and end up having to rebuild the entire thing.

This one has plastic guards over the sides at the bottom of the frame. They look like a factory part. Are they, does that mean this thing probaby hasn't been used a lot and would be a good bet?

i just bought my 89 kdx, and last time i was on it, it ran better than by buddies 98 KX250, and it starts first kick everytime...kdx is a good bike!

The reason the 1989 200 runs better than all the rest of the years is it uses a ligher piston than all the other years. The 1989=13001-1295 were the 1990 thru 2005=13001-1317

I took a risk and bought a 95'. I got impatient and didn't want to risk not being able to pick up a kdx for $1,300.

I won't have time to pick it up and completely check it out until this weekend. Hopefully I get spend more time riding it than working on it... Either way it will be fun!

drop the ignition off and check the play in the crank would be my advice. Can tell you a whole heap of info. If there is play....Just walk away!
