KDX 220 noise

Just got this 97 KDX220 and rode for the first time today. Bike runs great but when I'm coasting and just bump the gas a little bit it sounds like rocks in the cylinder. Pull in the clutch and rev it up and it sounds just fine. Is this normal? Where could that sound coming from?

KIPS rattle most likley. KDX's are realy noisy, like a deisel with piston slap.

When you change your crankcase oil, refill it with one full quart, per Jeff Fredettes recommendation, virtually eliminates all clutch noise.
