I'm looking for some feedback from someone who has made this big bore upgrade on a '97 or later 220. How does it perform, do you lose anything on bottom, middle, or top, jetting changes, is the bike that had this upgrade ridden motox or in the woods, I want to know anything and everything there is to know about this setup "before" I over bore my cylinder.
Noi personal experience but I think I've read that the 240 isn't worth it. In some ways it was worse. Now a modded 200 to 225 is supposed to be real nice.
I would also recommend the 225. The 240 uses a sleeve, the 225 is plated.
Plated cylinders are suppose to last longer and have better heat transfer etc...
Yeah, but this wouldn't be worth it for 5cc. Plus the 220 apparently has questionably crappy porting. I wish I could give you the answer on the 240, but all I can tell you is to do a search--this has been discussed and there are plenty of folks in this group with the LA-sleeved 240 kit.
