Sorry,
I have a1984 kdx 200 I just got it was running real rich, I was told the last owner put in new boyson reeds. So I moved the man jet down one by putting the clip a notch up and when I put it all back together the throttle only goes about 1/4 of what it should and does not return on it's own. Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks,
Bri-o
You can not move the main jet, you changed the needle position. Check the throttle cable it may be time for a new one, a fraid cable can be dangerous. Make sure your choke is pushed down..
Check to make sure the plasic sleeve at the end of the slide spring is seated correctly. There's a groove on the sleeve that should fit in the same goove that the end of your cable is seated in.
If it 'pulls and returns fine' when out of the boots, and sticks when it's mounted, it's a cable routing problem.
But you don't say 'out' but 'apart'.
I'm missing something. How do you know it 'pulls and returns fine' when it's 'apart'? Watching the slide move when the carb is 'apart' wouldn't tell you a whole lot.
