KDX tire sizes

My KDX has the stock tires yet (rear=100/100-18), I have a set of Dunlop D756 tires that I tried on my KLX-400SR. I also have D756's on my KX and they are awesome, unfortunately, the KLX is much too squirrely on the street at 60+mph with them, so I'm putting the D606's back on it. I'd like to stick those D756's on the KDX. The front is the same size, but the rear is a 110/100-18. I'm not sure what the 110 denotes; I assume it's width. Will this tire fit the KDX?

It is the width and it will fit. 110's are what I usually ran on the my KDX. They seem to hook up a bit better and absorb rocks and roots a bit better as well. I even ran a 120 for a while without problems.

I just switched out the stock 739's for 756's (110 on rear) and the difference is amazing.

110 is the tire's tread width in mm's

100 is the aspect ratio (sidewall height being 100% of tread width)

And of course 18 being the rim diameter.

An example of an automotive tire size would be (I'll use my Expy) 275/60-17

Tread width - 275mm
sidewall height is 60% of the tread width
rim diameter is 17"

Kinda funny how they use metric measurement for the tread width, but standard for rim diameter. :coocoo:

I actually like the 739 front with a 756 rear combo. Works good down here in the mixed terrain.

I'm gonna give the Maxxis or Kenda tires a shot next time around and for sure go up to a 110

I changed the stock Dunlops out for Michelin S12(Front) & M12(Rear). The front bites down great now(especially in sand) compared the washy front dunlop & the rear has a nice bite also compared to the rear Dunlop-Both were the 739

Consider trying a sand tire the next time around, like an S-12 or D773. You'll be amazed by how much better they work for our riding conditions.
I finally got around to trying a D756 on this front this past winter. Let's just say it's been retired and won't be seeing my front wheel again anytime soon.

I did put a S12 on the front & M12 on the Bck. I can turn a hell of a lot better in sand. I was trying to break it loose and it would not. Great tires

I rode a 200 w/ A MAXXIS ON THE REAR. iT HOOKS UP NICE, BUT YOU CAN FEEL THE WEIGHT

The Mich. Tire Sizes 110/100 equals the Dunlop Sizes 100/100. Same for front 90/100 equals 80/100-Something like that
