I am sure there must be other threads like this, but here is another one as I am sure there are people out there with the same feelings as I have on this subject.
I currently ride a modified KDX200, I have done all the bolt on mods possible, other than the RB Carb or Federate Carb Mod, I live in South Africa, so I haven’t considered these mods. I am quite a big guy at 210lbs at 5'10", so I am always looking for more power. I rode my brothers GasGas 300ec on Saturday, it has good power but I didn't like the suspension at all, I have dialed my KDX suspension in so much and it suits the way I ride 100%. When I climb onto other bikes they just feel weird.
I wish I could put a 250 engine into my KDX200 setup, sound odd considering that many people take the KDX200 engine and put it into other frames. I enjoy the plushness of the KDX ride I just wish it had more power and torque for those really big rutted hill climbs, where you may need to tap off and then roll the power back on, the lost of momentum when I tap off just kills me.
Will boring it out to a 220 make much of a difference? Will I be satisfied or should I not waste my money and just get a 250?
