KDX200 engine in KX125 frame??

I have a friend that has a 91 KDX200 and he was thinking about getting a 91 KX125 rolling chassis and putting his KDX engine in it.
I was toold by some one that his engine will bolt right in...is this ture?? :|

no it will not you need to weld in new front motor mounts and remove some matrial from the rear motor that goes between the swingarm. You will also need to heat and smash down the bottom frame rail or the clutch hosing will hit. The lower rear mounts are ok. I would talk to Jeff Fredette he did both of mine (91kx frame and my kx94 frame). I sill got the 94/89-kx200 this setup really is the bike kawasaki should sell :D

If you are going through the time and expense of building your own KX/DX I'd personally look for something newer than a 91KX to swap the motor into.

I'd phone Jeff Fredette directly and talk over the price on the conversion.

David
