hello fellow KDX'ers,

i just purchased a 2003 KDX220R in a private sale. therefore it came with no manuel. i went on cyclepedia to purchase a manuel but i couldn't find an exact one for it. i cant seem to find anything for my bike on any search engine only the kdx200/220 kdx220-a. does anyone know if these manuels will work or does any one know where to find a manuel (kawi site wasn't helpful for me). i have never been dirt biking in my life so i apologize for any ignorance i display. Just trying to live a childhood dream.

thanks

2003 KDX 220R Manual

Take a look at Prosource Outlet. They should have a manual for that bike. I am getting ready to order one through them myself.

You can get shop manual through your local dealer. I dont think they made Clymer's for the newer KDX's. I like the shop manual better anyway, they are more detailed.

Mix at 40:1 or 50:1. I've run both on my KDX's and had no problems. Use 1 quart of 10-40 quality grade oil with no additives and you will be fine.

There is no oil filter on your bike.

Check ebay for a manual, or give your vin # to your local shop and they can order you one.

2003 KDX 220 Manual

The sticker on the back fender of mine shows the mix ratio of 32:1, although it wouldn't hurt to run a leaner mixture of 40:1.

Congratulations on the purchase of a KDX!

There is a service manul for the 1995 - 2006 KDX200. It is Kawasaki part number 99924-1181-10.

There is also a KDX220R Supplement Manual, which shows information on the changes related to the KDX220R (piston diameter, etc.)

It is Kawasaki part number 99924-1204-57.

www.ronayers.com has them for $53.96 and $7.39. Just copy and paste the part numbers into the search box:

99924-1181-10

99924-1204-57

There is no Clymer, Haynes or Chilton manual for the 1989 and newer KDX's. Clymer made one manual for the 1979 and 1980 (maybe '81 also??) models. They still make the 1983 - 1988 KDX200 manual.

Stock KDX will run on most any type of gasoline. Most of us run premium 93 octane pump gas and hopefully all gas and no alcohol. Some threads on added alcohol on these forums, but in generall alcohol is bad and can be very bad, because it likes water and oil in our fuel for engine lubrication does not mix with water. Ride safe John

Some local premium gasoline from the pump works for most people.

If the 100 you mention is for airplanes, that would be great, if you are planning to put it into an airplane and not a KDX.
