I own a 1995 KDX 200. How should i go about cleaning the KIPS valve? Is there any specialty tools required? Is there a process i should follow and is there anything that needs to be purchased to put it back together, eg gaskets.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

There is a great article on the just KDX website in the tech tips section. It is at the bottem of the engine section and is titled Top End Pictoral. You should check it out.

I assume you have a parts manual? There is a seal and o`ring and a gasket needed. Cleaning is simple ,a solvent and wire brush will clean up the parts.Coat moving parts and rack with moly grease.Indexing is critical. To keep parts in fine working condition use Maxima PVC ( Power Valve Cleaner) fuel additive.
