Hello lads,

I've just pulled my head off (the bike not my own) and need to replace my KIPS valves.

When I put it all back together do i have to line up the main exhaust at all ?

The manual I have tells me how to line up the KIPS power valves but doesn't mention any lining up procedure for the main exhaust valve....

I could see something moving in the top centre of the exhaust oulet when I moved the KIPS rod in and out.. now it doesn't move.....hmmmmmmm

help.

You should probably remove the rod and the valve to clean it and remove any carbon. Iirc, above the exhaust port on the outside of the cylinder there is a plug that needs to be removed to gain access to the main valve.

When the rod is in, all three valves should be closed. They should all rotate simultaneously to a fully open position (seen through the exhaust port) when the rod is pulled outwards.

Removing the cylinder will make things easier for you. It sounds like you will need to anyway

Cheers :)
