KTM 250XCFW overheating

I just bought my son a 2007 KTM 250XCFW, His dream bike, it has about 7 hours on it during breakin. We took it out to put a few more hours on it and it over heats and spews out antifreez during idle. It doesn't do it if you are actually riding it. It didn't do this during the first 7 hours of breakin time. They only come with a 30 warranty and have had it for 3 months. Any suggestions on what it my be? water pump, thermostat? I don't want to just start replacing parts to troubleshoot it. Any help would be greatly appreciated

A friend of mine got a new 2006 sxf 250 it would do that. It ran extremely hot if it idle to long. Took it back to ktm they rejetted it which helped a lot. Not complete cure though. Just can't let them set and idle for long, especially in hot weather. But I can say the bike still runs good today with no engine problems having occured from this.

Check the jetting as mentioned above but also check to make sure the pilot jet isn't obstructed. Don't ask how I know to check that...............

Most of them will over heat if you let them sit at idle too long, they need the movement of air through the radiators to cool it. What fuel are you using in it?

i'm actually in the exact same boat. The only difference is when i let my bike idle, it's fine...when i ride, anti freeze spits all over my googles...pants, bike...even smokes. I'm trying to figure out what i need to do as this is my first 4-stroke and i just bought this bike...hey WEROMORENA, where did you purchase your bike from? mine also has a 30 day warranty, which is overdue, and it only has about 3 hours max of riding. Let me know if changing the jets worked! Thanks
