KTM is set to go racing next year with its RC8 R superbike, which is hot off the presses from the EICMA show in Milan. Featuring a V-Twin engine that displaces 1195cc's (that's almost the maximum size allowed for racing against liter-class fours), the liquid cooled engine pumps out 165 horsepower or 180 with the optional race exhaust. discount tires cars

I'm with you, Rich.

The RC8 is a very nice, and innovative, first superbike for KTM, but there is nothing like an extremely refined, and well-honed machine like the 1098R.

I'll miss Troy Bayliss on one, though. Truly one of the really great riders.

It should be a great year in WSBK, next year, with new BMWs, Aprilias, Yamahas, and Suzukis going up against the refined Ducs. and Hondas. Haga, Corser, Biaggi, Spies, etc. Should be fun! :nod:

Rich, have you heard the recording of Ben Spies new '09 YZF getting warmed up? It sounds like a VFR/RFV gear driven cam racebike. Very cool sounding bike! :cool:

The whirring mechanical sounds along with the flat plane crank exhaust note makes for some incredibly cool sounds. Given how fast Spies went on the bike at the first test, I think we have an interesting season coming in 2009. :cool:

I have been reading about that KTM for a while. Have yet to lay eyes on one.
It is insanely light and powerful.
