KTM wheel bearings

I greased the front and rear wheel bearings on my sons ktm tonight (mine soon to follow). Everything went pretty smooth, but I was wondering if anybody knows why the rear wheel has a circlip under the dust seal to hold the bearing in on one side only (brake side) and not both sides?

If I remember right theres a lip on the other side so the
bearing will only come out one way.Front the same way,
with clip on brake side if I remember correctly.

Both sides are removed "outwards" with only the brake rotar side having the clip.
