Kx 500

Hello all,
First post on here. I am at a loss. I have a 1997 KX 500, that I have had for about 5 years. i love the bike, but I keep snapping off kick start levers. Anyone out there have this problem or know of a cure? I go through a few a year.

I am not sure myself but here is a good place to find out. It seems like everyone in the place has a 500.

I had the same problem with a 86 kx500, even with the top-dead-center drill, i still broke 2 aluminum ones.
I finally went to a junk yard and found a steel kick starter from an old "KDX" that fit.
That was the last one i broke.

I want a 500 in the worst way but I can barely kick my 250 over ( Height issues lol, Im 5'7" with STUBBY legs, and weigh like 150 lbs ... Im beyond tiptoeing on my 250.

I guess I will go buy a new one. 100+ dollars. They are proud of them
