kx 80 motor

i have an air-cooled kx 80 motor which i hear was only produced from 1979-1982. Since the frame goes to an 85' kx 80 i have no way of telling exactlly what year my motor is. Does any one know if the motor was exactlly the same through those years? What i need to do is buy two stator coils since the ones i have now are fried. But i cant figure the year to buy the coils since no companies can tell you the year buy the motor number, they only take the vin number. would it cost the same to have the coils rewired buy a dealer? Any one have any advice, as it will be GREATLY appreciated. :thumb:
