Kx 100 2002 - kx 85 2007 Ignition

Hi I have a kx 100 2002 which we just bought a new motor for - a kx 85 2007. Well the ignition is different on it and the wires don't match up. I was wondering if I can just take the ignition stator off of the old 2002 and place it on the 2007?? Or do I have to buy a new 2007 ignition for this engine?? Thank you for your help!!

the stators are different for 06+. You have to run the matching years ignition so your timing will be correct. You also have to run the correct cdi box so the timing curve will be correct as well. 85 and 100 cdi's are different. stators are the same from98-00, 01-05 and 06-present.
